WITH A MEDIUM DISTRACTION NEARBY, WALK THE DOG BY USING LEAVE IT TO CALL THE DOG AWAY WHEN HE/SHE SHOWS MILD INTEREST AND CONTINUE WALKING.

USING A MILD VALUE OBJECT (DEPENDS ON YOUR DOG’S PREFERENCES), WHILE THE DOG IS HOLDING THE OBJECT, CUE DROP. DOG SHOULD LET GO OF THE OBJECT AND BE LED AWAY. DO NOT RETRIEVE AN OBJECT FROM UNDER THE DOG’S SPACE, SAFETY FIRST.

CUE DOG TO SIT, OPEN DOOR, DOG SHOULD REMAIN IN SIT UNTIL DOOR IS FULLY OPEN AND WAIT AN ADDITIONAL 3 SECONDS TO BE RELEASED AND WALK THROUGH TOGETHER. THIS SHOULD BE AN EXTERNAL DOOR OF THE HOME.

CUE YOUR DOG TO GO TO A MAT OR BED FROM 15 FT AWAY, DOG SHOULD WALK TO MAT, POSITION IN SIT OR DOWN, WAIT 5 SECONDS, THEN RELEASE YOUR DOG.

ASK YOUR DOG TO SIT OR DOWN, WALK 6 FEET AWAY, TURN AWAY FROM YOUR DOG FOR 5 SECONDS AND RETURN TO YOUR DOG, THEN RELEASE WITH CUE.
